Many mountains offer beginners packages, which include lift tickets and equipment rentals at a low price. This is the most common way for beginners to learn to ski and snowboard. But it's not always an affordable option. Buy a beginner package online to save some money. You can also shop around at other mountains to find a better deal.
1. Shawnee Mountain Beginner's Package
A lift ticket for all of the area, a lesson and equipment rental can be purchased for $147. This is a pretty standard deal, but they offer special dates where it's cheaper, like Learn a Snow Sport Day in January.

2. Big Snow 3-Day Snow Day Package
For only $110, you can commit to a full day on the slopes. This is the same as a beginner's package, but you can also rest as much as your two-hour lessons allow.
3. Big Snow's Two-Hour Intro Session
For those of you who have never snowboarded before, this is the perfect way to get started! It's a short, exciting session that is led by some of the most skilled instructors in the industry. This is a fun, informative session that's ideal for people of all abilities and is a great Christmas gift idea!
4. The Early Skiing Lesson for Little Shredders
The introductory ski lessons are designed to teach and reinforce the skills needed for children to have a great first experience on skis or snowboards. The lessons begin with balance and stance exercises, which develop coordination and provide the foundation for good technique. After practicing on dry land, they are taught how to ride different slopes. Finally, they move onto indoor dry slopes where they can experience more of a real hill experience.

5. Buck Hill Multiyear Program
Buck Hill offers a range of learning opportunities to suit every age and ability, including Private Lessons for 13+ and Youth Group Lessons for 3-12 year olds. Your child will be able to have fun and learn in a safe environment with friendly and knowledgeable instructors.
6. The Group ski and ride program for women
This multi-year program was specifically created for women interested in improving their ski or snowboarding skills. This program can help you build confidence and friendships with your peers in a positive, supportive environment.
There are many specialty ski clinics that you can take to learn specific skills such as Trees and Steeps and Bumps or Women's Only. Each clinic is guided by a professional, and you'll get plenty of practice on snow to help you feel confident.
FAQ
How can you find affordable accommodations when you travel abroad?
For travelers looking for cheap accommodation, there are several options: hostels; hotels; guest houses; and bed & Breakfasts.
Hostels are affordable and provide dorm-style rooms in which guests share bathrooms and living spaces.
Hotels are located in tourist areas and offer private rooms with en suite bathrooms.
Hostels have similar features to guesthouses, but they are more spacious and can accommodate fewer guests.
Bed & Breakfasts are very popular among budget-conscious travelers. A guest stays in a private home and is provided with a full morning breakfast.
When traveling, what should you remember?
When you travel, you'll find yourself in situations with little time to make decisions. So be prepared to improvise.
You could be stuck there for hours, days and even weeks. You can plan ahead to ensure you have water, food, shelter, and somewhere to sleep. You may need to improvise if you don't plan ahead.
In these cases, you'll probably have to rely on what you know how to do best. That means making quick decisions based on instinct and experience.
Sometimes you don't have a choice. You might find yourself in an area without cell service, out of gas or robbed. These situations will require you to quickly adapt to the situation.
The key to success is to stay calm, remain focused and act decisively. Don't panic. Instead, try to focus on the things that you can control.
If you are lost in the woods, it is possible to choose which direction you should go. You can also eat berries and mushrooms if you feel hungry. You can drink rainwater, or melt snow if your thirst is great.
If you are tired, you can take a break. You can layer up if you are cold. You can wear a sweater if it's cold. No matter what you do, it will make you feel better to stay positive.

An airport form with information regarding your flight will be handed to you upon arrival. This form will ask for information such as your baggage weight and if you require assistance to check them in.
